Recipe Ingredients for Tuna- Spaghetti Casserole

1 teaspoon olive oil
2 cups Mushrooms
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2 cups skim milk
28 g Cheese 1/2 CUP
8 ounces spaghetti
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cans (7 ounces each) water-packed tuna, drained and flaked
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Recipe Directions for Tuna- Spaghetti Casserole

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F. Coat a 13" x 9" freezer-proof baking dish with no-stick spray.

  2. 2.Coat a 10" no-stick skillet with no-stick spray and place over medium-high heat until hot. Add the oil, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 8 minutes, or until the mushrooms are very soft.

  3. 3.Reduce the heat to low. Add the flour (the mixture will be dry. Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Gradually add the milk and Cheddar. Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 to 8 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Remove from the heat.

  4. 4.Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling water according to the package directions. Drain well. Transfer to a large bowl. Add the broccoli, tuna, carrots, and mushroom sauce. Toss well. Place in the prepared baking dish.

  5. 5.In a small bowl, combine the parsley, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Sprinkle over the tuna mixture.

  6. 6.Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until bubbly.
