Recipe Ingredients for Tuna Noodle Casserole

1/2 cup olive oil
8 oz egg noodles
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups skim milk
12 oz canned tuna
1 cup green peas
3 tbsp bread crumbs
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Tuna Noodle Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Butter a medium baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter

  2. Brin Ad egg noodles, cook for 8 to 10 minutes until al dente and drain.

  3. 1 tbsp of olive oil in skillet over medium-low heat. sStir in onion, celery, and garlic. Cook 54 minutes until tender. Increase heat to medium-high and mix in mushrooms. Continue to took and stir 5 mins or unti lmost of the liquid has evaporated.g a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.

  4. Melt 4 tbsp of butter or olive oil in medium sauce pan and whisk in flour until smooth. Gradually whisk in milk and continue cooking 5 mins until sauce is smooth and slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in tuna, peas, mushroom mixture and cooked noodles. Transfer to the baking dish. Melt remaining 2 tbsp butter (or olive oil), mix with bread crumbs and sprinkle ovber the casserole. Top with cheese.]Bake 25 mins in the preheated oven or until bubbly and lightly browned.
