Substitute 2 cups diced cooked chicken for the tuna.

Recipe Ingredients for Tuna (or chicken) Thermidor

10 oz. frozen peas, cooked
12 oz. tuna
1 c. celery, diced
15 oz. water chestnuts, drained and sliced
1/2 c. almonds, sliced
2 tbsp. green pepper, chopped
1 tbsp. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. red bell pepper, chopped
2 tbsp. white wine
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. flour
1 cup 2% milk
60 g. bread cubes, 2 large slices
1 c. cheddar cheese, shredded

Recipe Directions for Tuna (or chicken) Thermidor

  1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a baking dish.

  2. Sprinkle with wine, lemon juice, and salt.

  3. Make a white sauce of milk and flour (season as desired). Pour over other ingredients.

  4. Top with bread cubes.

  5. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

  6. Top with cheese and bake 5 minutes more.
