This recipe cuts the butter in half from the original Toll House recipe. Also the white flour is replaced with whole wheat flour and raisins and nuts are a healthy addition.

Recipe Ingredients for Trina's Healthier Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup walnuts
2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for Trina's Healthier Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Cream butter and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla until creamy. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Mix into butter mixture until well combined. Stir in walnuts, chocolate chips and raisins. Drop by tablespoons onto cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
