Trail Granola Recipe

Makes 8 servings



Basic granola for the trail - maximum energy for the hiker with minimum weight.

Recipe Ingredients for Trail Granola

4 c oatmeal
1 c honey
1/2 c brown sugar
1 c chopped Almonds
1 cup,+chopped pecans
1 c pumpkin seeds
1 c sunflower seeds
1/2 c sesame seeds
1/2 c maple syrup
1 c wheat germ
1/2 c canola oil
2 c dried milk
1 c water

Recipe Directions for Trail Granola

  1. Combine dry ingredients.

  2. Combine water, oil, brown sugar, and honey and bring to a boil.

  3. Pour boiling liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until well mixed.

  4. Spread out on a large well oiled baking sheet and cook at 350 for 40 mins. Turn every 10 mins. If you like really crunch granola bake the full time or a little more, if you like less crunchy granola maybe on 30 or 35 mins.
