Recipe Ingredients for traditional stuffed peppers

2 large green peppers
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
15 ounce can tomato sauce
1/4 cup cooked long grain rice
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Recipe Directions for traditional stuffed peppers

  1. cut off pepper tops and remove seeds

  2. place peppers in a large saucepan and cover with water. bring to boil cook for 3 min. drain and place in ice water. invert on paper towels.

  3. cook beef and onion. remove from heat.

  4. stir in 1 cup tomato sauce, rice, salt, garlic powder and pepper. spoon into peppers.

  5. place in an ungreased shallow baking dish. drizzle with remaining tomato sauce. cover and bake at 350 for 30 min until peppers are tender.
