Recipe Ingredients for Touch of Grace Biscuits

2 cups self rising flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup butter, melted

Recipe Directions for Touch of Grace Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees

  2. Cut 1/2 cup butter into small pieces and chill. Melt 1/2 cup of butter for brushing tops of biscuits.

  3. Combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Mix with wisk.

  4. Add chilled butter and work into flour with fingers until not lumps remain.

  5. Add whipping cream and then enough buttermilk to make the dough into a cottage cheese consistancy.

  6. Spoon biscuit size portion of dough and drop intobowl with regular flour. Shape into biscuit and place in lightly butter pan with sides of biscuits touching. Lightly butter tops of biscuit with pastry brush.

  7. Bake for 10-11 minutes until nicely browned on top.

  8. Turn out bicuits on plate and break apart. Brush with remaining butter.

  9. Enjoy
