Delicious small sized tortillas. Edited from an online recipe. I added warm milk instead of water, and substituted butter for shortening.

Recipe Ingredients for Tortillas

2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cup non fat milk

Recipe Directions for Tortillas

  1. Directions:

  2. In a bowl, Mix together flour, salt, and baking powder. Cut in the butter until it resembles fine grain.

  3. Heat the milk in the microwave for 25 seconds, or until just warm. Add the milk a little at a time, to flour mixture and and mix until all dry ingredients are absorbed, and a light dough forms.

  4. Form dough into a ball and kneed on a floured surface until dough is smooth and elastic. Divide, and make 12 smaller balls. Cover and let stand at least 30 minutes.

  5. Cooking Tortilla:

  6. Roll each ball of dough on a floured surface to make 6 or 7 inch sized tortillas. Place on a pre-heated griddle or cast iron skillet and cook until lightly browned or blackened on both sides. a little bit of pan spray might help.

  7. Place Tortillas on a plate covered with paper towels, and enjoy.
