Great breakfast item. It's Chewy and filling. A little high in calories but worth it.

Recipe Ingredients for Tony's Oat Cakes

12 oz blue bonnet
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup water
1 lb flour
18 oz rolled oats
4 oz brown sugar

Recipe Directions for Tony's Oat Cakes

  1. Cream margarine and sugar add rest of dry ingredients then water. mix just until incorporated. press into a 9 x 13" pan and bake about 40 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean at 350 deg F.

  2. Take out of oven and bang on table or counter so the oat cake falls. This will help keep it chewier longer. Cut into 15 pieces and enjoy.

  3. I also add dried cranberries to them as well and they taste great.
