Recipe Ingredients for Toni's sweet lentils and rice

3 cups lentils, dry
3 cups brown rice, medium grain, dry
1 cup craisins
1 cumin, tandoor spice, and cayenne to taste

Recipe Directions for Toni's sweet lentils and rice

  1. Put the 3 cups of brown rice into a 5 QT slow cooker, cover in about 6 cups of water. Cook on high for at least an hour.

  2. Add 3 cups lentils, add another 4-6 cups of water, stir.

  3. Keep an eye on the pot- add water as needed. I probably tossed in another 6 cups of water, at least.

  4. When the rice and lentils are just past super crunchy (about 4 hours after start of process), add craisins. Stir, allow the mix to cook out the rest of the water.

  5. Just about 1 cup is my version of a serving.
