I modified by reducing the margarine by half and replacing with Smart Balance, omitting salt, using whole wheat pasta, and using 1/2 the amount of reduced fat cheddar cheese.

Recipe Ingredients for Toni's Deli Spaghetti, Modified

1/4 c Smart Balance
1/2 lb ground venison
26 oz Pasta Sauce, Full Circle
1/2 lb thin spaghetti, Hodgson Whole Wheat
4 oz shredded 2% cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Toni's Deli Spaghetti, Modified

  1. Brown meat and onion. Drain.

  2. Add sauce and Smart Balance to meat/onion mix and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti per package directions.

  4. Layer in pan, sauce, spaghetti, cheese.

  5. Bake, uncovered, 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
