Recipe Ingredients for Tomato Sauce

4 serving Meats - Pork Sausage (Blue Menu)
648 grams Extra Lean Ground Beef
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
1 tbsp Oil Olive Extra Virgin
4 clove Garlic
796 mL Vegies - Crushed Tomatoes (Great Value)
156 mL Vegies - Tomato Paste (Hunts)
680 mL Vegies - Tomato Sauce (Hunts)
0.5 cup (8 fl oz) Water
6 tsp Sugars, Granulated
1.5 tsp, ground Basil, Dried
0.5 tsp Fennel Seed
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
1 tbsp Salt, Table
0.25 tsp Pepper, Black
2 tsp Parsley, Dried

Recipe Directions for Tomato Sauce

  1. Brown sausage, beef, onion and garlic.

  2. Place in large pot.

  3. Add tomatoes, sauce, paste and water.

  4. Stir to combine.

  5. Add sugar and spices.

  6. Simmer for three hours on very low heat.
