Recipe Ingredients for Tomato Sauce

6 cups canned tomatoes, diced
3/4 cup dry red wine
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1 tbs olive oil
1 tbs sugar
1 tbs dried oregano
1 tbs dried parsley
1/2 cup fresh basil, minced
1 tbs garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Recipe Directions for Tomato Sauce

Saute onions and garlic in oil. Add wine and let reduce by half. Add remaining ingredients except for basil; simmer for at low heat for 2 1/2 hours. Add basil and simmer for a final 1/2 hour.
