quick, easy, and very tasty sauce. Use no salt added crushed tomatoes or chop up no salt canned tomatoes. great when you add spicy chicken sausage!

Recipe Ingredients for tomato sauce

1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic
28 ounces tomatoes
3/4 tsp basil, dried
1 1/2 tsp sugar, granulated
1/2 tsp oregano, dried
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper, black

Recipe Directions for tomato sauce

  1. heat olive oil in medium saucepan

  2. add onions and garlic; saute 1 - 2 min.

  3. add other ingredients and bring to boil

  4. cover and reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes.
