Recipe Ingredients for Tomato Sauce Recipe for Pasta

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
28 ounce crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon sugar

Recipe Directions for Tomato Sauce Recipe for Pasta

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Add the onions and saute until translucent. Add the garlic and cook and stir another 2 to 3 minutes.

  3. Stir in the tomatoes, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt.

  4. Cook until completely heated, another 2 to 3 minutes.

  5. For a smooth sauce, place mixture in your blender or food processor and process until texture that you want.
