Covent Garden Book of Soups used tin of toms and jar of peppers.

Recipe Ingredients for Tomato and Red Pepper Soup

400 g tomatoes
1 onion
350 g roasted peppers
1 1/2 pints water
1 clove garlic
1 tsp sugar
2 serving bouillon
10 leaves basil

Recipe Directions for Tomato and Red Pepper Soup

  1. Fry the onion and garlic until soft

  2. add tin of toms

  3. add stock, made with Marigolds

  4. and jar of peppers (roughly chopped)

  5. add basil leaves and liquidise.
