A sweet tomato puree to make at home

Recipe Ingredients for Tomato Puree

1 kg tomatoes, peeled
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp salt

Recipe Directions for Tomato Puree

  1. Slice off the top of each tomato (stem part) and cut a shallow "x" in the bottom part.

  2. Place tomatoes in a large pot of boiling water, turn off heat and cover for 5 minutes.

  3. Drain the water and plunge the tomatoes into a pot of cold water for another 5 minutes.

  4. Remove the peel, which should come off easily.

  5. Puree the tomatoes in the blender and place in a pot with vinegar, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil and simmer until desired consistency is reached.
