A light but filling lentil soup in the Indian tradition.

Recipe Ingredients for tomato massoor rassam

1 1/2 cup Red Lentils
2 medium raw Onion Yellow
2 serving Tomatoes, Crushed, Canned
1/4 cup Coriander Leaves
1 wedge yields Lime Juice
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Turmeric, Ground
1 serving Ground Cumin Seed
1 tsp Spices Ground Coriander
2 clove Garlic

Recipe Directions for tomato massoor rassam

Cook the lentils along with the turmeric in six cups of water until soft. Add chopped onion, garlic and remaining spices. Simmer until the onion is soft. Add salt, tomatoes and lime juice. Simmer 10 minutes more. Purée if desired. Taste to correct seasonings and serve with chopped cilantro.
