A thinner take on traditional chili, this soup has less meat and more tomato. I don't believe that the recipe has as much salt as stated; the brands of ingredients that I use weren't in the data bank. This soup is even better as left-overs. Add another can of condensed tomato soup and water to stretch if, if needed.

Recipe Ingredients for Tomato Chili

3 cans condensed tomato soup
3/5 lb ground beef
2 cups dark red kidney beans
2 cups tomatoes, diced, Italian style
2 cups cooked brown rice

Recipe Directions for Tomato Chili

  1. Brown beef. Add tomato soup and diced tomatoes. Drain and add beans. Add onion, ground black pepper, a little ground cumin (optional) and garlic. Add a pinch or two of sugar to cut the acidity. Bring to a simmer. Add water to achieve desired thickness. I normally make it a little thicker than prepared tomato soup.

  2. Let simmer for at least 10-20 min, but a few hours is better.
