A play on plain old spaghetti and marinara, based on a recipe from Smitten Kitchen.

Recipe Ingredients for Tomato and Chickpea Sauce

14 1/2 oz Organic Diced Tomatoes
15 oz Garbanzo Beans Chickpeas Drained and Rinsed
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
4 cloves, raw Garlic
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 cup Soup, Chicken Broth

Recipe Directions for Tomato and Chickpea Sauce

Set aside 1/3 cup of chickpeas. Lightly mash the remaining chickpeas and mix with broth. Saute onions and garlic with pepper flakes, dried basil, and other desired spices. When onions and garlic are translucent, add chickpea mixture and diced tomatoes. Simmer for about 20 minutes. Add remaining chickpeas and serve with spaghetti or linguine.
