For a richer sauce, add one vegetable or chicken bouillon cube when you add the tomatoes. Yeals enough to sauce 1 pound of cooked pasta or 1 pound of meatballs. Can be frozen for future use.

Recipe Ingredients for Tomato-Basil Sauce

28 ounce diced tomatoes
6 ounce tomato paste
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 cp chopped fresh basil

Recipe Directions for Tomato-Basil Sauce

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, and dried basil. Bring to a simmer and let simmer for at least 10 minutes and up to 30 minutes. Remore from the heat and stir in fresh basil. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Let cool to room temperature then stor in a plastic container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
