Recipe Ingredients for Tomato Basil Cream Sauce

5 large whole (3" dia) Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
3/4 large Onions
2 tbsp, ground Basil, Dried
1 tablespoon Oregano
1 tsp Sugars, Granulated
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 dash Pepper, Black
1 cup Milk, Nonfat, Fluid
0.03 cup Cornstarch
2 tablespoon Garlic, Minced

Recipe Directions for Tomato Basil Cream Sauce

  1. Sautee diced onion and minced garlic until soft and translucent.

  2. Add diced tomatoes, basil, sugar, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  3. Bring to boil and simmer uncovered ov er medium heat until sauce has reduced and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

  4. Add thickened skim milk, stir together and simmer 5 more minutes.

  5. Blend and serve over your favorite pasta.
