Indian Palav (Pilaf) made from low fat Tofu instead of Paneer

Recipe Ingredients for Tofu - Palav

2 cups white rice
350 g firm tofu
4 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 cup lowfat buttermilk
1 tsp lentils
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Recipe Directions for Tofu - Palav

  1. Cut firm tofu into small cubes and shallow fry them in 3 tbsp oil till they are golden brown

  2. Use one tsp oil for seasoning

  3. Prepare seasoning with Oil, Mustard Seeds, Turmeric Powder and lentils

  4. Boil rice + Water (not pressure cook) in a pan

  5. Sallow fry buttermilk & lemon juice with fried tofu

  6. Mix the boiled rice, seasoning and shallow fried tofu till the mix looses all water

  7. Add 1 tsp salt and serve
