Toasted barley in a rice like manner

Recipe Ingredients for Toasted Barley and shallots

1 tbsp butter
1 cups pearl barley
2 tbsp Shallots
4 tomatoes , chopped into large chunks
2 cloves garlic, pressed
4 cups hot water
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
1 pinch salt

Recipe Directions for Toasted Barley and shallots

  1. Put the butter into the pan.

  2. Add in the Barley cook for 1 minute.

  3. Add shallots and garlic. Cook for another minute.

  4. Add water, pepper, and salt. Bring to boil.

  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 40 minutes or until the Barley is tender.
