Recipe Ingredients for Toad in the Hole

7 ml olive oil
125 g plain flour
2 medium eggs
200 ml milk
75 g sausage
70 g carrot, peeled and grated
50 g broccoli
70 g onion, chopped
1 pinch of salt
1 tsp mustard

Recipe Directions for Toad in the Hole

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees, 425 degrees F.

  2. Place the oil in an 8cm x 4xcm deep loaf tin and heat until very hot.

  3. Sift the flour into a bowl and make a hole in the centre.

  4. Add the egg and milk.

  5. Beat together to form a thick creamy batter, then fold add the sausages, carrot, broccoli, onion and salt.

  6. Spoon the mixture into the hot dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and risen.

  7. Then serve.
