Recipe Ingredients for toad in the hole

450 g pork sausage
125 g plain flour
2 large eggs
150 ml skimmed milk
150 ml ale

Recipe Directions for toad in the hole

  1. pre-heat oven to 200deg, place sausages in oven proof tin 28cm x 23cm, cook for 10-5mins until browned turning half way through.

  2. remove all but 1tbsp of the fat.

  3. place flour in a bowl, make a well in the centre, add the eggs and mix in

  4. gradually stir in the milk and ale until you have a smooth batter.

  5. rest for 15 mins.

  6. pour batter around the sausages then cook for 25-30 mins until crisp and well risen.

  7. (use Badger Golden Champion Ale, and Tesco Finest Pork & Bury Black Pudding Sausages).
