This is a Deen Brothers recipe. The chili is hearty with a great tomato flavor.

Recipe Ingredients for Three Bean Chili

2 1/4 lbs extra lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
3 cups celery, chopped
56 oz. diced tomatoes
28 oz. whole tomatoes
15 oz. pinto beans
15 oz. black beans
15 oz. kidney beans
5 1/3 tbsp chili seasoning
2 tbsp cumin
2 tbsp chili powder

Recipe Directions for Three Bean Chili

  1. Use a large, heavy coated pot.

  2. Brown meat, drain and set aside.

  3. Cook onion, bell pepper and celery in cooking spray.

  4. Stir in cans of tomatoes.

  5. Add cumin and chili powder (may add extra to taste)

  6. Cook mixture on medium heat until veggies are tender.

  7. Drain and rinse all three cans of beans.

  8. Add beans, meat and chili seasoning packet.

  9. Simmer 2-4 hours, mostly covered. Leave a small area for steam to exit the pot uncovered.

  10. Serve as a main dish, over a baked potato or any other way you like.
