Makes 8 servings



Use light corn syrup and texas pecans if you can find 'em. The 1st 3 ingredients make the pie crust. You can buy a ready made one if you like.

Recipe Ingredients for Texas Pecan Pie

1 1/4 cups flour
1/3 cup shortening
4 tbsp water
2 eggs
1 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup pecans

Recipe Directions for Texas Pecan Pie

  1. Lay the pecans on the crust.

  2. Slightly beat the eggs and mix all other ingredients together.

  3. Pour over the pecans and Bake at 375 for 40-50 minutes.

  4. Halfway through baking, cover the edges of the crust with foil so it doesn't get too browned.
