a GOOD cold day stew that is easy to prepare.. the hardest part is waiting for it to be done ~smile~

Recipe Ingredients for Texas Cowboy Stew

2 pounds ground beef
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tablespoons minced onions
29 oz diced tomatoes
30 oz pinto beans
2 cups frozen corn
14 1/2 oz diced tomatoes with chilis
16 oz frozen mixed vegetables
3 large potatoes
4 cups water
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder

Recipe Directions for Texas Cowboy Stew

  1. brown ground beef add garlic powder & minced onion, stir until meat is no longer pink. Drain off grease and add to LARGE pot (we used a 10 quart pot)

  2. add all of the other ingredients WITH liquids to the meat. Peal and dice the potatoes. Add spices.

  3. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for at least 1 hour. Stir occasionally. The longer this stew cooks, the better!
