Recipe Ingredients for Terry's Rosemary French Bread

6 1/2 cup Organic Whole Wheat Flour
2 tbsp Rosemary, fresh
1 1/2 tbsp Yeast, Active Dry
3 tsp Sea Salt
3 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Terry's Rosemary French Bread

  1. In large bowl with lid, preferably plastic, mix yeast, salt and warm water until yeast dissolves.

  2. Add flour and minced rosemary, mix until blended thoroughly.

  3. Cover bowl and let rise for two hours. Dough should be moist enough to spread out in bowl as it rises.

  4. Now you can pull off a piece to make a small loaf of bread or put the whole thing covered in the refrigerator for use another time. The dough will keep in the plastic covered bowl for two weeks.

  5. To make a loaf of bread, break off a piece of dough. Knead it briefly pulling dough from the top and tucking it underneath. Repeat this four or five times rotating dough around so you form a nice ball.

  6. After kneading form dough into desired shape and set on a foil covered baking sheet to rise for another 30 minutes.

  7. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees.

  8. Dough does not rise a lot in this 30 minutes. Brush top lightly with olive oil. Use a serrated knife to make decorative cuts across the top.

  9. Bake for 25 minutes or until top is golden brown.
