Steamed dumpling style buns stuffed with Teriyaki pork

Recipe Ingredients for Teriyaki pork meat buns

1 cup water (warm)
2 tbs yeast
3 tbs sugar
3 cups flour
1 tbs salt
1 lbs pork (cooked and cubed)
3 tbs teriyaki
1 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs flour (or corn starch)

Recipe Directions for Teriyaki pork meat buns

  1. In large ziplock bag, mix teriyaki, soy sauce, and pork. Let marinate in fridge until dough has risen.

  2. Dissolve sugar into water (water should feel warm but not hot to the touch) and add yeast.

  3. Let sit until frothy (5-15 mins.).

  4. Add salt and flour, stirring first with a spoon, then by hand, until dough forms a ball and is no longer sticky.

  5. Let rise until double in size (1-3 hours).

  6. Punch down, and let sit while heating pork mix.

  7. In large skillet, blend flour or cornstarch with pork mix until smooth paste forms, heat until sauce thickens, set aside to cool.

  8. Divide dough into 16 parts, flattening each ball out into a circle about the size of your palm.

  9. Place quarter sized amount of filling in center, fold dough around and pinch shut. Repeat with the rest of the dough.

  10. Steam for 10-15 mins. Buns will seem sticky until cooled.
