delicious flaky English tea biscuit/scones

Recipe Ingredients for tea biscuits

2 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
16 tsp Sugars, Granulated
4 tsp Baking Powder
0.5 tsp Salt, Table
12 serving 1/2 tsp light margarine
1 egg Extra Large Egg
0.5 cup Milk, Nonfat, Fluid
1 egg Extra Large Egg

Recipe Directions for tea biscuits

  1. mix flour,sugar,baking powder and salt.

  2. cut butter till crumbly. combine 1 beaten egg and milk. add to flour mixture; stir just till dough clings together

  3. on lightly floured surface knead gently 12 to 15 strokes.

  4. divide dough in half. shape each half into ball; pat or roll to 6-inch circle.

  5. cut each circle into 6 or 8 wedges.

  6. space slightly apart on ungreased baking sheet.

  7. brush with beaten egg.

  8. bake in 425 degree oven 12-15 minutes. or till deep golden. makes 12-16
