Fish roe salad. Traditional Greek Lenten fare. Strong fishy, lemony taste. Not for the faint of heart. Use as you would hummus.

Recipe Ingredients for Tarama salad

1/2 cup Potatoes, Boiled, Cooked In Skin, Flesh
0.5 cup Olive Oil
1 cup Bread Crumbs, Dry, Grated, Plain
1 tbsp chopped Shallots
1 serving fish roe
2 lemon yields Lemon Juice

Recipe Directions for Tarama salad

Use Cod Roe (usually found in jar in Ethnic markets) About 100g or 2 heaping tablespoons for amount above. For bread crumbs, best to use 3 slices of bread (any kind) that have been left out to dry overnight. soak them in water then squeeze out extra liquid. Mix all ingredients except oil and lemon in food processor. Slowly add oil, then lemon while processing. Should have thick, creamy consistency. Add lemon to correct taste. Use Cod Roe (usually found in jar) About 100g or 2 heaping tablespoons for amount above.
