This is my "indulgent" version of spaghetti marinara.

Recipe Ingredients for Tania's Spaghetti with Homemade Marinara

16 oz dry spaghetti
16 oz tomato sauce (chunky)
3 oz red wine
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp butter
1 tbsp honey
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 tbsp minced garlic
1 1/4 cup chopped tomato
1 tsp rosemary
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp sage
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
5 tbsp grated parmigiano reggiano

Recipe Directions for Tania's Spaghetti with Homemade Marinara

  1. Bring water to boil in large pot and add spaghetti.

  2. Heat olive oil in a small pot. Add onions. When they start to become transparent add the garlic. When the garlic becomes fragrant add the tomatoes, wine, honey, and butter. Let simmer for about 6-8 minutes until slightly reduced.

  3. Add tomato sauce, herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer for additional 10 minutes.

  4. Serve sauce over pasta and top with lots of cheese.
