Sorghum really makes this sauce. You can substitute half molasses and half dark corn syrup if you can't find sorghum, but it's really worth using the real thing.

Recipe Ingredients for Tangy Sauce for Grilled Vegetables

1/4 cup sorghum
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp ground coriander

Recipe Directions for Tangy Sauce for Grilled Vegetables

  1. Combine all in a blender and blend briefly.

  2. Use sauce to marinate vegetable chunks, such as onions, mushrooms, zucchini, butternut squash (parboiled), cherry tomatoes and bell peppers.

  3. Thread on skewers and grill until done, basting with the sauce. Vegetables will test done when a fork pierces them easily.
