Recipe Ingredients for Tamarind-Ginger Sauce

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
1 cup onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp fresh lime juice
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 cup water
1 tbsp tamarind paste
2 tbsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp cayenne
4 scallions, sliced on the diagonal

Recipe Directions for Tamarind-Ginger Sauce

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in ginger, onion, and garlic; cook for 5 minutes. Add vinegar, lime juice, honey, and mustard and stir. Pour in water, and stir in tamarind paste. Bring to a boil, then season with coriander, cayenne, and salt. Reduce heat to medium-low, and cook on for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Blend in a blender. Return to pan and adjust seasonings to taste.
