Hamburger pie with corn meal shell

Recipe Ingredients for Tamale pie

1 1/4 lbs ground beef, extra lean
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cups enchilada sauce
1 cup corn
2 1/4 oz ripe olives, sliced & drained
1 tsp salt
2 1/4 cups corn meal
2 cups water
12 oz Carnation evaporated milk
1 tsp salt
4 oz green chiles, diced
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Tamale pie

  1. Brown ground beef & drain

  2. Add onion & garlic

  3. Mix in other ingredients

  4. Make crust using corn meal, water, milk and chiles

  5. Put shell in baking dish, fill with mix, top with cheese

  6. Bake at 350 until done
