Revised Paula Deen's recipe and subbed seasonings and salsa in for the high sodium ranch mix. Use ground turkey for a more healthy version.

Recipe Ingredients for Taco Soup

1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup diced onions
2 cups pinto beans
2 cups pink kidney beans
1/2 cup kernel corn
14 1/2 ounce stewed tomatoes
1 cup salsa
9 ounce diced green chiles
3/4 ounce taco seasoning mix
1/2 tsp parsley
3/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Recipe Directions for Taco Soup

  1. Brown the ground beef and diced onions.

  2. Drain excess fat.

  3. Transfer to slow cooker.

  4. Drain canned beans and with all other ingredients to slow cooker.

  5. Cook on low 6-8 hours.

  6. Optional: Serve with corn chips, shredded cheese and sour cream.
