I also keep light sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese on hand for some added flavor.

Recipe Ingredients for Taco Salad

1 lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
4 tbsp Taco Seasoning Blend
10 oz can chili beans
10 oz can garbanzo beans
4 cups lettuce, romaine
2 tomatoes
6 oz can olives, sliced

Recipe Directions for Taco Salad

  1. Brown beef (or turkey) and onions in a skillet

  2. Add taco seasoning mix, chili beans (with the liquid.) Only add 1/4 cup more liquid if there isn't much from the can.

  3. Simmer about 15 minutes until liquid adheres to other stuff in frying pan

  4. Put lettuce, chopped tomatoes, olives, and garbanzos in a bowl.

  5. To keep for left overs, have the bean and meat mix separate from the salad mix, people can just add how ever much of that mix they want.
