Tabouli (also tabbouleh or tabouleh) is a salad dish that originates from Lebanon. It's primarily composed of parsley, bulgur and olive oil, but may also have other ingredients. Tabouli has become very popular and has many variations throughout the Middle East, depending on the region.

Recipe Ingredients for Tabouli

1 cup Bulgar Wheat
1 cup Parsley
1 oz(28 g) Mint
1/2 cup, chopped Onions
3 medium Tomatoes
2 cucumber (8-1/4") Cucumber
2 tbsp Olive Oil
3 wedge yields Lemon Juice
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 cup (8 fl oz) Water

Recipe Directions for Tabouli

  1. In a large mixing bowl, pour the water over the cracked wheat and cover, let stand about 20 minutes until wheat is tender and water is absorbed.

  2. Add the chopped herbs and vegetables and toss with the mix.

  3. Combine the oil, lemon juice, and salt in a separate bowl. Add to wheat mixture and mix well. Chill.

  4. Serve and enjoy.
