Very spicy green bean recipe taken from Guy Fieri's Food Network show. Adapted to make them low-calorie. Yum!

Recipe Ingredients for Szechuan Green Beans

2 1/4 cups water
1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 ounce hot pepper sauce
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp white wine
1 tsp chopped fresh cilantro leaves
1 pound green beans, cleaned
2 tbsp chopped peanuts

Recipe Directions for Szechuan Green Beans

  1. Boil 2 cups water and add cleaned green beans. Boil for about 5 minutes. Drain.

  2. In medium sauce pan over medium heat, add 1/4 cup water. Add ginger and garlic. Saute for 3-4 minutes. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin, white wine, and cilantro. Cook for a couple of minutes.

  3. Add green beans to sauce. Toss and garnish with peanuts.
