Round steak with tomatoes and black olives, served with mashed potatoes.

Recipe Ingredients for Swiss Steak

2 lbs round steak, fat trimmed
1 medium onion, sliced
15 ounce petite diced tomatoes
15 ounce black olives
2 cups water
1/2 tablespoon Oregano
1 Salt
1 Pepper

Recipe Directions for Swiss Steak

Trim any fat from steak and cut into serving sizes. Brown on both sides and season with salt and pepper. Add onions, tomatoes, water, black olives and oregano. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer on low for 2 hours or longer.
