Sweet and sour meatballs with pineapple and celery

Recipe Ingredients for Sweet and Sour Meatballs

2 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup white vinegar
1 1/2 cups ketchup
3 cups water
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 cup celery
2 cups pineapple
1 tsp salt
1 small onion
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Recipe Directions for Sweet and Sour Meatballs

  1. Mix together beef, oatmeal, egg and seasoning. Shape into balls and boil in salted water until the float. Then broil for 30 minutes (or until done).

  2. Mix together top ingredients except for 1/2 cup of cold water and cornstarch. Once all liquid is boiling, add the water and cornstach mixture to thicken and simmer. Add meatballs when ready or reseve sauce for later. Freezes very well. Good for pork chops or spareribs.
