Sweet and Sour Ham Recipe

Fat can be reduced by sauteing with less oil and sodium can be reduced by using lower sodium ham and sweet chili sauce. Calories can be reduced by exchanging brown rice for white rice.

Recipe Ingredients for Sweet and Sour Ham

44 oz Pork, Cured, Ham, Steak, Boneless, Extra Lean, Unheated
3 stalk Broccoli
1 medium Orange Hothouse Bell Pepper
1 cup chopped raw Vidalia Onion
1 cup, sliced Squash, Summer, Crookneck And Straightneck
3 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long) Celery
6 cup Boil-in-Bag White Rice
12 serving Sauce
20 oz Crushed Pineapple
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil, Canola

Recipe Directions for Sweet and Sour Ham

  1. Cut pepper up into 1 inch pieces.

  2. Cut broccoli crowns into individul pieces.

  3. Slice onion into 1/4 " vertical strips.

  4. Slice summer squash into 1/4 " discs.

  5. Slice celery stalks into 1/4" pieces.

  6. Saute all vegetables in 1/4 oil on high heat until tender crisp.

  7. Cook rice while vegetables are being sauted.

  8. Once vegetables are tender crisp add dinner steak that has been cubed into 3/4'' pieces.

  9. Pour entire bottle of "Franks Sweet Chili Sauce" over vegetables and Ham.

  10. Add whole can of pineapple drained but reserve the juice to add extra pinapple flavor as needed.

  11. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes until heated through.

  12. Drain rice.

  13. Serve Sweet and sour ham mixture over rice and enjoy!
