An easy recipe for American-style sweet and sour chicken--a great comfort food!

Recipe Ingredients for Sweet and Sour Chicken

4 serving Chicken
10 fl oz Sweet and Sour Sauce
20 oz Pineapple Chunks in 100% Juice
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 medium raw Bell Pepper Green
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
6 cup Rice, White, Long-grain, Regular, Cooked
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil

Recipe Directions for Sweet and Sour Chicken

  1. Saute the bell pepper and onion (you can add mushroom, carrots, or other vegetables if you wish) in the oil until tender crisp. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  2. Chop the chicken breasts into 1 inch chunks and cook until browned in the same pan the vegetables were cooked in.

  3. Once the chicken is cooked through, add back in the vegetables, 1 jar of sweet and sour sauce, 2 Tbs soy sauce, 2 Tbsp of pineapple juice reserved from the can, and 1 20 oz. can of pineapple chunks, drained. Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally. Serve over rice.
