Makes 24 servings

A sweet, crunchy slaw usually served with Southern-style pork barbeque.

Recipe Ingredients for Sweet Slaw

1 head of cabbage, finely shredded (about 2 quarts)
1/2 c white vinegar
1/2 c sugar

Recipe Directions for Sweet Slaw

  1. Shredded the cabbage very finely. (I usually run it through the grater on my food processor at least twice.) Place in a sealed container to avoid leakage.

  2. Heat the vinegar.

  3. Add the sugar to the vinegar.

  4. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  5. Pour the dressing over the cabbage. Place in the refrigerator. Every few hours turn the container up-side down and leave in the refrigerator. This helps the flavors blend better.

  6. Use after the slaw has marinated at least 18 hours.

  7. Will keep for at least 2 months in the sealed container in the refrigerator.
