Helen's version of swedish meat balls

Recipe Ingredients for Swedish Mince Balls

1/2 oz corn bread
1/2 cup corn flakes
1 oz butter
2 tsp vegetable oil
500 g beef mince
30 ml cream
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 medium egg
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 pinch ground allspice

Recipe Directions for Swedish Mince Balls

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C

  2. Put the cornflakes and corn bread into a food processor on high speed to make breadcrumbs

  3. Pour the cream into a bowl and soak the breadcrumbs in it

  4. Heat the butter and oil in a large frying pan and cook the onions and garlic over medium heat until soft.

  5. In a large bowl, add the onions and garlic, the minced beef, egg, nutmeg, allspice, garlic and breadcrumb mixture. Use your hands to mix well and shape into meat balls about 1"

  6. Put them into a dish and cover with foil. Cook in the oven for 40 mins or until cooked through.
