Recipe Ingredients for Sweaky's Creole Shrimp

1 large onion, sliced
3 stalks celery, chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon chili powder, mild
2 tablespoons flour
15 oz tomatoes, diced
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 cup white wine
1 pound shrimp, shelled, deveined

Recipe Directions for Sweaky's Creole Shrimp

  1. Saute onion with celery in olive oil until transparent; mix in chili powder and flour thoroughly. Mix in tomatoes and peas and bring to a simmer. Add sugar, Tabasco, and salt to taste. Add white wine and simmer until thickened, about 15 - 20 minutes. Add shrimp and cook only until they are heated through. Serve at once on a bed of hot rice.

  2. Serves 6.
