Recipe Ingredients for Super Healthy Bread Pudding (1 Cal/gm)

7 slices Bread, Whole-wheat, Commercially Prepared
3 cups Milk, Reduced Fat, Fluid, 2% Milkfat
1 tbsp Butter
1 tsp Salt, Table
1 tbsp Cinnamon, Ground
1 tsp Nutmeg, Ground
1 tsp Leavening Agents, Baking Powder, Low-sodium

Recipe Directions for Super Healthy Bread Pudding (1 Cal/gm)

  1. 1.let bread get stale overnight or just use strait from pkg., but works better stale

  2. 2.cut bread into 3/4 in. pieces

  3. 3.heat milk in microwave until steaming hot

  4. 4.mix in all ingredients except for bread into milk

  5. 5.combine bread pieces and the milk mixture in a big bowl

  6. 6.put in a 8/11 glass baking dish sprayed with cooking spray and sprinkle more nutmeg, cinnamon and no calorie splenda on top.

  7. 7.bake in 350 degree oven for 45 min

  9. 9.you can also make this into a chocolate bread pudding by subsituting cinnamon, nutmeg, and extracts with 2 tbsp (or more) unsweetened cocoa and upping splenda no calorie to 1 cup

  10. 10.you can also take out the vanilla extract and up the rum extract to 1 tbsp and add 1/2 cup raisins for a rum raisin bread pudding

  11. 11.Add bananas , strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries and dont put the cinnamon in for a fruit bread pudding

  12. 12.add apples and keep the cinnamon for an apple pie bread pudding

  13. 13.add bananas and strawberries to the chocolate version for a banana split bread pudding
