Perfect for Sunday Morning Breakfast or Brunch. For a shiny surface brush each with milk before baking. Or brush with melted butter and sprinkle with lightly sugar.

Recipe Ingredients for Sunset Raisin Scones

3 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
1/2 tsp Salt, Table
3 teaspoon Baking Powder
0.33 cup Butter
0.33 cup Shortening
1 cup, packed Raisins, Seedless
1 medium Egg, Whole
1 cup Whole Milk

Recipe Directions for Sunset Raisin Scones

  1. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar; cut in butter and shortening with two knives or pastry cutter. Beat egg in a measuring cup, then fill cup with milk. Add to flour mixture and stir lightly to make a soft dough. Divide dough in half; place each half on a floured board and pat out 1 inch think. Cut into 6 triangles and place on baking pan. Bake in a hot oven (425) about 15 minutes. Split open, butter, and serve hot.

  2. For richer scones use half N half for part of the milk.
